Legal Counsel to Akind Group
Do you have a few years of legal experience, a genuine interest in privacy, and thrive in an environment where pace meets heart? At Akind, you won’t just be a member of the legal team – you will be a central enabler for our continued international growth.
On behalf of Akind Group, we are seeking an operational Legal Counsel to join a modern, tech-driven legal function. Positioned as a business enabler, the Legal Department combines legal expertise with information security and compliance to protect revenue and strengthen operations.
In this role, the Legal Counsel will help safeguard company interests and provide counsel across all business functions. Reporting to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will be a key player in ensuring that legal expertise acts as a seamless driver for the business.
This is an opportunity to be part of a transformation journey where legal operations, AI, and new ways of working are central—giving you a chance to contribute to shaping how a future-facing legal function operates.
About the Role
As Legal Counsel at Akind, you will step into the heart of our operations. You will be the daily backbone of our Legal Department, acting as the first point of contact for a broad range of questions across the entire business. Supporting 37 legal entities across our five brands - Akind, Academic Work, Winona, Brights, and Crowd Collective—in six countries, you will hold a role with immense breadth and international impact.
Your mission will involve:
Commercial Contracts: Supporting and coordinating commercial contract work (drafting, reviewing, and negotiating) with a focus on speed, accuracy, and practical, solution-oriented outcomes.
Corporate Governance: Owning and managing corporate governance, administrative tasks, and group shareholder matters across a multi-entity group.
Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support for the business (managing inquiries via shared inboxes) and providing pragmatic, business-relevant advice across functions such as IT, Finance, HR, and Procurement.
Data Protection & Compliance: Handling GDPR, data privacy, and other compliance related matters.
Risk Management & Problem Solving: Contributing to risk assessments and navigating new legislation.
Process Improvement: Supporting ongoing enhancements in ways of working, templates, guidelines, and stakeholder education to embed compliance into daily processes.
