Job description

Moank is an innovative financial technology company dedicated to enhancing user experiences through cutting-edge technologies. They are currently in the beginning of a bold and ambitious scale-up phase where you, a highly experienced developer, will create seamless and engaging user experiences powered by robust, scalable technologies. You will build and maintain innovative web applications and report directly to the Head of Engineers.

You will for example;

• Design, implement, and maintain software solutions using modern web technologies and microservice architecture. This includes contributing to both the frontend user interface and the backend application logic.
• Collaborate with designers and other developers to create responsive and visually appealing user interfaces.
• Design and build RESTful API endpoints to support frontend functionalities.
• Ensure the application is scalable, maintainable, and secure, following best practices in software development.
• Optimise application performance, focusing on both client-side and server-side aspects.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and work closely with the team to deliver high-quality code.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Who you are

To thrive in this position, you are excellent at problem-solving and detail-oriented in the way where you understand when things are good enough in order to make your work both qualitative and efficient. You enjoy working both independently and as part of a team and keep a positive mind-set with a strong willingness to get things done. We also believe that you have strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.

Other requirements for this role is;

• Proven experience in building web applications using backend frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web development practices.
• Experience with backend development, including designing RESTful API endpoints and working with databases.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of CSS and responsive design principles (experience with Tailwind CSS is a plus but not required).
• Ability to write maintainable code and follow best practices in software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS) and deployment pipelines.
• Experience with headless CMS or eCommerce platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of SEO best practices and web performance optimization.
• Experience in mobile app development, especially with frameworks like React Native (using expo is a plus but not required).
